Born in California in 1970, Sam Russo grew up dabbling in many forms of expression. Magic, juggling, drawing and building Lego creations were among many. As a High School sophomore, crafts instructor, Richard Imm instructed Sam in rug making, jewelry smithing, and enameling on copper. Jewelry smithing introduced the torch and enameling introduced the glass. Eight years later, after living in Oregon for a short time, Sam realized that the torch and the glass could be put together! Real magic happened and a commitment to fire and glass was forged.

Sam currently resides in Folsom, CA, which is 15 miles east of Sacramento. He works with glass in the evening, and works for Arrow Springs during the day. Sam teaches classes on occasion.
